The market tone is mixed as ample dry buttermilk stocks contrast with recent firm butterfat prices. Dry buttermilk production is active as cream clears through churns. However, some condensed buttermilk loads are being sold via spot or contract agreements to alleviate pressure on dryers. Dry buttermilk inventories are building. EAST: Dry buttermilk prices are mixed. The market undertone is unsettled for most industry contacts. Spot trading activity is light to moderate as most transactions are based on contract requirements. Demand from bakers is active, mainly sustained by the year-end holiday needs.
