Buyers indicate offers from the west are sporadic. Interest has been mixed as well, with limited demand on a regular basis. Large quantity sales, when offered, capture lower prices, while sales of single loads carry higher prices. Production is active throughout the west, following the recent butter production trend. The February 2015 Dairy Market News average of the mostly price series for West dry buttermilk was $0.8993 compared to $1.9367 one year ago. DAIRY PRODUCTS: NASS reports dry buttermilk production in the U.S. for January 2015 totals 10.3 million pounds, down 9.6% from one year ago. Stocks at the end of January were 24.8 million pounds, a 92.4% increase from one year ago. F.O.B.
