WHOLE MILK POWDER (WMP):  

      Oceania whole milk powder prices are steady to slightly 
lower. There was some surprise at the 5.6% August GDT Event 189 
contract price decline. However, it is noted that buyers expect 
more WMP to become available in the near term, so are currently 
selective in pricing. At the June 6 GDT Event, the WMP all 
contracts price decreased 2.9%. New Zealand exports of WMP 
January-April, 2017, are down 4.9% in tons compared with 
January-April 2016, but up 29.7% in value, to $1.388 billion, 
according to CLAL. The Dairy Market News international monthly 
average price in dollars/metric ton for Oceania WMP prices in May, 
2017, $3,211, compares with $2,052 one year earlier.
