WHOLE MILK POWDER (WMP):   

Whole milk powder prices in Europe firmed at each end of the 
price range this week. This represents a new high for 2016 
prices. The fact of WMP prices in Oceania being higher yet is 
helping lift prices in Europe.  WMP production in Europe during 
August this year is 0.5% above August last year according to 
Eucolait. Production January-August this year is 4.8% greater 
than production for the same period last year. During the first 
eight months of this year, the top producing nations were: 
Netherlands, France, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden. European 
export volume of SMP January-August 2016 was 3.7% above the same 
period last year. The three main destinations of exports and 
percentage of the total were: Oman, 15.6%; Algeria, 8.8%; and 
Lebanon, 4.6%.
