May 28, 2015 (REPORT 21) WESTERN EUROPE INFORMATION GATHERED 05/18/2015 - 05/29/2015 U.S. DOLLARS PER METRIC TON, FOB PORT SWEET WHEY POWDER: Sweet dry whey prices moved marginally lower on the upper end of the range. The market for food grade remains fairly stable. Good demand from infant formula manufacturers for eventual export has supported the market. Cheese production is below year ago levels, due to the continuing Russian ban, and continues to lower whey production on a year over year comparison. Feed grade whey demand has weakened. Exports of sweet dry whey for January-March 2015, as reported by GTIS, showed an increase of 3.4%, compared to the same period last year. March's export volumes increased significantly with all of the top ten destinations expanding their volumes, compared to the previous month.
